💡 Tip: New investors often start small ($500–$1,000) to learn the process, then scale up.
What are the minimum investment amounts?
- Standard Range: $500 – $25,000 depending on the project.
- Equity deals: Usually $500 to not more than 10% per project.
- Debt deals: Often $10,000 – $50,000.
What affects minimums:
- Size of the project (larger = higher minimum).
- Type of deal (equity vs. debt).
- Target investor base.
- Regulatory requirements.
How is the share price determined?
- For new listed projects: Total project funding goal /total shares = starting price.
Example:
- Project Funding Goal = $100,000
- Total shares = 10,000
- Price per share = 100,000/10,000 = $100 per share
What happens after my order is accepted?
- Funds move from your Potrise wallet to the project's account.
- You receive digital shares confirming ownership.
- You get an email receipt showing the project, shares, and total invested.
- You can track everything in the app under Portfolio.
Who can invest with Potrise?
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Must live in the United States.
- Must have a valid Social Security Number.
- At this time, we cannot accept international investors.
Investment Limits
Your ability to invest may be subject to limits based on:
- Your annual income
- Your net worth
- Any other investments you've made under U.S. securities regulations (such as Regulation Crowdfunding offerings)
These limits are designed to protect investors while still giving you access to opportunities in Ghanaian real estate.
Can international investors use Potrise?
At this time, Potrise only supports U.S. investors.
- International investors are not currently eligible.
- We may explore expanding access to international investors in the future, depending on regulations and platform updates.
Accredited Investor Access
Some investment opportunities on Potrise may be limited to accredited investors only. This typically requires meeting certain income or net worth thresholds, or providing verification through financial documentation.
How do I calculate my net worth?
Your net worth = total assets – total liabilities.
Important rules for investment limits:
- Do not include the value of your primary residence as an asset.
- Do not count mortgages or loans on that residence as liabilities (up to fair market value).
Example:
- Jeff earns $80,000 annually.
- Jess earns $120,000 annually.
- If they invest together, their combined income is $200,000. Their investment limits are calculated based on this combined figure.
Do I have to be an accredited investor?
Some projects on Potrise may be available to both accredited and non-accredited investors, while others may be restricted to accredited investors only.
What fees does Potrise charge investors?
Potrise is committed to clear, upfront fees with no hidden charges.
Important Notes:
- Fees vary by project and are always disclosed in the project's offering documents.
- Potrise does not charge fees for failed or canceled investments.
This makes all investor-related rules (eligibility, limits, accreditation, and fees) live in one place for easier navigation.
